project description

3DP STeF aims to transform the textile and fashion industries by merging additive manufacturing (3D printing) with sustainability and digital innovation.

The project responds to the need for new professional profiles capable of driving the green and digital twin transition through education and technological training.

It focuses on developing new curricula, training programmes and infrastructure that embed AI, data analytics, augmented/virtual reality, and circular economy principles into textile production and design.

By equipping learners and educators with advanced digital and sustainable skills, the project promotes a new generation of designers, engineers and entrepreneurs who can lead the sector toward a more resilient and eco-friendly future.

goals

  1. Integrate 3D printing and digital technologies into textile and fashion education across Europe.

  2. Develop a new European Master’s programme and micro-credentials on sustainable digital manufacturing.

  3. Strengthen the link between academia, VET, and industry to bridge the skill gap in the textile sector.

  4. Promote sustainability and circular economy, reducing waste, emissions, and overproduction.

  5. Enhance gender balance and inclusion through scholarships, internships, and accessible training opportunities.

  6. Build a pan-European ecosystem for innovation and collaboration via a digital hub connecting universities, SMEs, and research centres.
