MateraHub Launches the new European Specialisation Programme PICC - Promoting Innovation in the Cultural and Creative Industries

RESTORY project builds synergistically upon textual and oral storylines to explore the past of small and
medium-sized communities with the end goal of restoring the public’s emotional connection to discontinued
traditions, conveyed by several neglected subsets of cultural heritage. In doing so, it pays greater attention to
dimensions of cultural heritage and its transformative nature that have long been overshadowed by architectonic
monuments or sites of national or trans-national significance. Written texts and interviews encapsulate expressions
of collective agency, allowing current-day SSH academics to investigate those natural processes that gave prominence to a limited supply of human and material resources. With a focus on schooling, recycling practices, and
affective-based communication strategies of group agents, RESTORY intends to break down the formation and
enactment of attitudes and strategies, learn from the lessons of the past and integrate them into the future
configuration of commitments. Ultimately, emulating the resource maximization solutions (intuitively designed by
small-scale communities over a long period of time) will allow the transfer of know-how from academia to local
memory institutions, stakeholders (through facilitators serving their communities), and citizens and contribute to the
sustainable development of heritage.
goals
O1. Ensure efficient allocation and resource management within the consortium during the 36 months of project implementation in order to achieve the proposed results.
O2. Increase knowledge about written and oral heritage produced by small communities by conducting research in at least 10 locations in 8 countries
O3. Democratize access and use of community produced heritage by ensuring transition from GLAM to openGlam in small size communities in partner countries.
O4. Implement an effective communication plan with the purpose of disseminating the project results to academia, stakeholders and the general public.
O5. Develop pilot solutions designed to help local communities better understand and restore lost meaning of cultural heritage in order to help them face future change with confidence.
O6. Enhance competitiveness between local GLAMS in order to stimulate creativity and generate social innovation.
O7. Monitor, through data analysis, the implementation of the project’s open-access policy in all the research activities, in order to ensure the availably of online data to relevant stakeholders.
