project description
The PRO-MOTE project seeks to enhance solidarity and democratic engagement in EU communities by boosting employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for migrants and refugees. It encourages citizen and representative association participation in the democratic process, focusing on labour market integration for these groups.
The project involves 6 organisations from 5 EU countries experienced in research, policy, direct work with migrants, and creative business support.
goals
The project promotes the participation of migrants, refugees and their representative associations in the democratic life of the EU by making their voice heard in the shaping of the EU framework for migrant entrepreneurship and employment. The project aims to empower this group by actively involving them in decision-making processes, more active participation in the EU labour market and solidarity actions in communities.
The project aim to achieve the following specific objectives :
- Directly involving migrants, refugees and migrant NGO representatives from 5 partner countries in policy discussions with experts and decision-makers to improve the European and national regulatory framework on migrant employment and entrepreneurship.
- Facilitating the development of inclusive policies and frameworks for migrant employment and entrepreneurship by bringing migrants, experts, and decision-makers together to co-design actionable conclusions and policy recommendations.
- Promoting the integration of migrants into the EU labour market by creating and publishing permanent resources, including the online platform Citizens Solidarity Lab, containing challenges, good practices, success stories, policy recommendations, training manuals and solidarity initiatives.
- Improving job opportunities for migrants and refugees in 5 partner countries by promoting solidarity initiatives, skills development, job fairs and the development of an online database on job opportunities.
- Raising awareness of the project results and promoting support for immigrant employment and entrepreneurship by reaching experts, decision-makers and citizens across the EU through conferences and awareness-raising campaigns.
