Welcome to a new chapter in Euro-Mediterranean collaboration
We are thrilled to share some exciting news: Materahub has officially joined the prestigious Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) network! This marks a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to foster cultural and creative industries while strengthening international cultural cooperation.
What is the Anna Lindh Foundation?
The Anna Lindh Foundation is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to promoting intercultural dialogue and collaboration across the Mediterranean region.
Established in 2005 and headquartered in Alexandria, Egypt, the Foundation is named in honor of Anna Lindh, the former Swedish Foreign Minister who was tragically assassinated in 2003.
Operating through a vast network of civil society organizations across 42 countries, ALF is committed to building bridges between diverse cultures, fostering peace, and enhancing mutual understanding. Its initiatives span across three key areas:
- Project Funding: Supporting innovative projects that address social and cultural challenges in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
- Networking & Partnerships: Facilitating collaborations among organizations and individuals engaged in intercultural dialogue, particularly in the cultural and creative industries.
- Advocacy & Awareness: Promoting policies, raising public awareness, and utilizing art and culture to advance intercultural understanding.
A Stronger Future for the Mediterranean
Becoming part of the ALF network is not only a prestigious recognition of our work but also a strategic opportunity to deepen our engagement in the Euro-Mediterranean cultural landscape.
Our journey in this direction has already seen success, particularly with the completion of our capacity-building program for creative and cultural professionals in the Euro-MED area. This initiative, implemented with the support of the Organisation for European Programmes and Cultural Relations in Cyprus and ALF, reinforced the importance of continued engagement in the region, including North Africa and the broader MENA area.
Through this membership, Materahub gains access to an extensive network of like-minded organizations, institutions, and professionals committed to cultural exchange and cooperation. This will enable us to:
- Expand Our Reach: Strengthen our international collaborations and build synergies with key players in the Mediterranean.
- Engage in Policy & Advocacy: Actively participate in discussions and initiatives aimed at addressing the challenges and opportunities of intercultural dialogue in the region.
- Enhance Our Skills & Knowledge: Learn from diverse cultural perspectives, exchange best practices, and refine our approaches to inclusion and diversity.
Joining the ALF network is a significant step in our commitment to fostering cultural collaboration and dialogue across the Mediterranean.
With Matera and Tetouan set to be the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue in 2026, this partnership comes at a defining moment, offering new opportunities to amplify our impact.
Join us on this exciting new journey! We’re eager to collaborate with inspiring partners, exchange knowledge and co-create initiatives that champion diversity and drive social change. Through meaningful partnerships and shared creativity, we strive to foster a more inclusive, connected and culturally vibrant Mediterranean.
