The second edition of the CREAMED programme, organised by the Organisation for European Programmes and Cultural Relations (OEPCR) Cyprus, successfully concluded in Limassol.
With over 500 participants, the programme highlights the importance of initiatives that connect European cultural and creative professionals with their counterparts across the Mediterranean, embodying the vision of the Pact for the Mediterranean – “One Sea, One Pact, One Future” – and fostering a space for shared imagination, collaboration, and the co-creation of future possibilities across the region.
Empowering Creative & Cultural Professionals in the Euro-Mediterranean Region
CREAMED is an intensive, transnational capacity-building programme designed to strengthen the skills of cultural and creative professionals through training, exchange, and networking. Bringing together participants from across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, the programme represents the first academy dedicated to cultural and creative enterprises in the Mediterranean region.
In this project, Materahub has been involved from the very beginning, first designing the content of this specialised training programme and now continuing to collaborate on its delivery for cultural and creative professionals across the Mediterranean.
Representing Materahub in this edition were Project Manager Angela di Benedetto and Eleonora Santini, who contributed hands-on interventions alongside trainers from the Anna Lindh Foundation, OEPCR, and the British Council.
The significance of the programme was further confirmed by the presence of H.E. Michael Tatham CMG, British High Commissioner to the Republic of Cyprus, who addressed the participants and emphasized the importance of collaboration, intercultural dialogue, and shared values across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Participants were also greeted by Mr. Mimis Sophocleous, Director of the Pattichion Municipal Museum – Historical Archives & Research Centre of Limassol, and Ms. Anastasia Andritsou, Director of British Council Cyprus and British Council Greece.
What’s next?
CREAMED doesn’t stop here. Later this year, Matera will host a new edition of the CREAMED Academy as a side event of the Magma Festival, the annual event organised by Materahub to promote creativity as a driver of cooperation and innovation.
Taking place in November 2026, during Matera’s year as Capital of Culture and Dialogue of the Mediterranean, this Italian edition reaffirms Materahub’s commitment to the Mediterranean, highlighting its role as a hub for cultural and creative exchange and a meeting point for professionals across the region.
