Materahub’s research area, in collaboration with Nuvolar, has developed a digital repository for the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs). This repository hosts multimedia content (text, video, photos, audio) related to the CCIs, making it available for public access. The repository, entirely cloud-based, helps users identify content of interest through keywords, utilizing proprietary algorithms that leverage Knowledge Discovery (Artificial Intelligence) applied to Big Data.

This initiative represents an extension of research and content production for the education system (including Italian universities with which Materahub collaborates and has developed new competency models), clusters, Innovation Hubs, business incubators, and factory hubs.

The repository is capable of cross-language operation, allowing for automatic archiving and tagging in three languages (English, Castilian, and French). Furthermore, its search functionalities can extend from one language to propagate across the others, enhancing accessibility and reach.

The platform, funded through grants awarded following the publication of rankings by the DGCC of the Italian Ministry of Culture (MIC) as part of the “Transizione Organismi Creativi e Culturali (TOCC)” program, also contributes to the green transition. It does so by using digital technologies that create products and services with low environmental impact. Digital pathways and the co-creation of content eliminate the need for physical travel to access and enjoy the content, thus reducing transportation-related emissions.
