Despite a faint improvement, Italy still ranks low in the Global Gender Gap Index (2022), according to which it will only close the gender gap in 132 years.

Among the many programmes attempting to reverse this trend, there is one to which we are particularly keen of. This is Prime Minister, the Italian school of politics and civic activism for young women.  Founded in 2019 and operating at regional level, this initiative bets on the capacity building of young women, tomorrow’s Prime Ministers, to stimulate a process of social innovation that can bring up a real gender equality in the country.

We support Prime Minister

If courage has been Prime Minister’s motto since day one, the courage to get involved and to uphold the idea of an equal society, this initiative could have not left Materahub indifferent.

So much that, at the go of the second edition of Prime Minister Basilicata, we have confirmed the partnership and the involvement as to inform the young female participants about the possibilities offered by Europe to guarantee a fairer start, such as access to professional and on the job training, international volunteering opportunities and grants for mobility and advanced education.

How we do it?

We do it by bringing our direct experience, speaking the voices of our female Project Managers that in Materahub doubles the number of male employees (18 professionals out of the 28) and that thanks to European programs have managed to build their own international career and become active citizens for a better, more equal and beautiful Europe.

In line with the mission of Materahub and the intentions to have a real impact on territories, partnering with Prime Minister means to disclose the range of opportunities offered by Europe, which often remains silent, to a public of young women living in one of the most isolated region of South of Italy.

Becoming conscious of the possibilities and of one’s rights, is nothing but the first step to evolve into a better European citizen, whether being a girl, a boy or whatever one feels to be.
