project description

The FashionSKILLS4BETTER project aims to address the significant environmental impact of the fast fashion industry. Its primary goal is to facilitate the transition towards a circular and sustainable economy within the fashion industry in Latin America, focusing specifically on Argentina, Uruguay, and Colombia.

The project brings together a diverse consortium of 9 partners from 6 countries (Spain, Italy, Denmark, Argentina, Colombia, and Uruguay).

goals

The main direct beneficiaries are Vocational Education and Training (VET) trainers, teachers, and educators. Indirectly, the project supports VET students, fashion professionals, and local Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to enhance their competitiveness and sustainability.

outputs

To bridge the current skills gap, the consortium will implement several specific actions:

  • FashionSkills4Better Online Course: A 25-hour training program divided into 8 modules, designed to equip professionals with green (GreenComp), digital (DigComp 2.0), and entrepreneurial (EntreComp) skills.
  • Open Badge Certification: A digital certification system to validate and recognize the skills acquired by the course participants.
  • Living Fashion Labs (LFLs): The establishment of 4 physical labs across Argentina, Uruguay, and Colombia. These innovation hubs will allow trainers, SMEs, artisans, and stakeholders to collaborate and test sustainable business models.
  • Skills4Sustainability Playbook: A comprehensive toolkit and manual ensuring the training model and LFLs can be easily replicated in the future, extending the project’s impact beyond its duration.
