Youth policy in the city of Matera: the “Neet-flix” project

Training phases for citizens and stakeholders is opened

An open day of the project called “Neet-flix, pathways of self-construction through others and the arts” was held on Saturday, Feb. 17, in the “Pasolini” council hall on Sallustio Street.

Implemented by the Municipal Youth Policy Office, Neet-flix aims to reactivate youth policies by creating a network between institutions and Third Sector organizations. The goal is to build a sustainable ecosystem for the training and lifelong engagement of young people, especially those in NEET – “Not in Education, Employment, or Training” status.

The project in its first phase aims to create a long-term network of care to address the NEET phenomenon. The training is dedicated to public and private entities, organizations and professional figures who interact with NEET subjects, offering them skills and tools to improve understanding, dialogue and interaction, totally free of charge.

It is divided into two macro modules:

• Basic Training – Neeting: psycho-social analysis of a misunderstood generation
• Specific Training focused on methodologies such as: cooperative learning for developing interpersonal skills; theater techniques combined with mentoring and professional development techniques.

Below are the events that will take place at HUBOUT’s public space in Matteotti Square.

• Basic training (mandatory) : February 28 / March 6-13-15
• Specific Training A (every Friday): 5-12-19-April / May 3
• Specific Training B (every Wednesday): April 3-10-17-24
