Get Close To Opera
We develop a design method based on Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory applied to the Work to promote the linguistic and cultural integration of migrants and refugees in Europe.
Get Close to Opera is a transnational Erasmus + project funded by the European Commission aimed at developing a design method based on Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Theory (MIT) applied to the Opera, in order to promote the linguistic and cultural integration of migrants and refugees in Europe.
After a first phase of research, the partnership including organisations from Italy, UK, Spain, Greece and Belgium will develop an innovative training programme for educators and trainers to be held in Matera ECOC in 2019. The method developed will be tested in several pilot projects with migrants and refugees in opera houses in Italy, Spain, Greece, Belgium and Great Britain.
The beneficiaries of the project are:
- professionals working in the educational departments of Opera Theatres;
- artists (musicians, singers, dancers, actors, etc.) involved in the educational programme;
- cultural mediators and professionals working for the integration of migrants and educators interested in the use of non-formal learning methodologies.
