From September 22nd to 25th, Prague will host the third edition of the Creative Skills Week. Stay tuned for programme updates and information on how to join the sessions online.
In a world that’s constantly evolving, creativity isn’t just an advantage, it’s a necessity. At the heart of human’s capacity to innovate, lies the ability to imagine, adapt, and co-create: skills that very much define today’s cultural and creative professionals.
While this introduction may sound like a familiar refrain, today it does not introduce just our point of view by a shared vision embraced by many across Europe. A shared vision that over the last few years has grown into a vibrant community of practice, one that comes together each year to learn, exchange, and co-create the future of skills in the cultural and creative sectors.
The Creative Skills Week is the space where this community gathers, and in 2025, it returns with even greater ambition and energy, hosted in Prague and online from September 22–25.
Why CSW2025 Matters
More than just a conference, the CSW2025 is a cornerstone initiative of the Creative Pact for Skills, which envisions a stronger, more future-ready CCI workforce across Europe. A moment for the sector to come together, report on progress, and spark new collaborations around upskilling, reskilling, and lifelong learning.
The Creative Skills Week is supported by several flagship European projects focused on skills development in the cultural and creative industries, including CYANOTYPES and SACCORD. Materahub, alongside strategic partners such as CreativeFED, plays a leading role in this process. We’re not just supporting the event: we are developing strategies to support the future of CSW, confirming our long-term commitment to its continued growth and relevance.
This year’s programme will be especially guided by the CYANOTYPES Framework, which promotes cross-disciplinary, cross-border collaboration and paves the way for new learning models that are both responsive and future-oriented.
Materahub’s Role in Creative Skills Week 2025
But that’s just part of the story. Working alongside partners, Materahub is deeply embedded in the engine room of Creative Skills Week, to ensure that CSW evolves beyond an annual event into a long-term ecosystem for innovation and collaboration.
Nevertheless, we must say that this 2025 edition is especially significant to us. For the first time, the event will run in parallel with the initial open piloting phase of the CYANOTYPES framework, where external CCI stakeholders will test the framework and toolkit in real-life contexts. This unique combination of events and action makes CSW2025 a live laboratory for experimentation and co-creation.
Our engagement doesn’t stop there. At the CSW we will also be curating panel discussions on the adoption of micro-credentials framework and green competencies across the cultural and creative sectors, bridging the work initiated in CYANOTYPES and SACCORD with new explorations through CREDEX and GreenCircle, two projects focused on policy experimentation and recognition of new emerging skills.
